Whether you are a complete beginner or an accomplished artist we can help you to learn the techniques involved in silk screen printing. We use only water based inks and practice in a solvent free workshop promoting an environmentally friendly way of working. All materials and equipment necessary for your course are included in the price. We can also tailor make courses for you and a group or friends, just Email us and we can discuss your needs. 5 week Beginners Courses

On these beginners courses you will be taught the processes for creating a paper stencil, drawing fluid and screen filler stencil and finally, photostencil. Throughout the 5 weeks we will take you through preparing and exposing screens, mixing inks, registration techniques and printing techniques. All materials are included.
There are only 6 places available so please book early to avoid disappointment.

1 Day Photostencil Courses

Saturday 26th January
Saturday 9th March
Saturday 27th April
Saturday 15th June
£80 per person. 10am - 5pm.

On these intensive day courses you will be taught all the processes needed to create a photostencil for printing. Processes covered are; preparing stencils for the screen, preparing the screen for exposure, exposing your image onto the screen, mixing up inks, registering your print and printing your image.
There are only 6 places on this course so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Half day Taster Sessions

Saturday 2nd February
£40 per person. 10am - 2pm

This taster session will give you an insight into the basics of screen printing. We will be working with paper stencils and drawing fluid stencils to create two colour images. We will then teach you printing and registration techniques.

Book binding workshops

BEGINNERS BOOK BINDING

Sunday 17th March
£40.00 per person. 10am - 4pm

The day will begin by learning the basics of sewing a pamphlet book. After this you will develop this method to produce concertina books, hard and soft bound books.
These methods of binding can be adapted to construct most artists books.
This workshop is led by Tish Tunstall.

FOLLOW ON BOOK BINDING

Sunday 21st April
£40.00 per person. 10am - 4pm

Tish will be returning to the studio to teach you how to make a hard backed book with a spine. This day is designed to be a follow on from the beginners course and is also suitable for those who have done some bookbinding previously.
